Medical Chromic Surgical suture absorbable Catgut Sutures
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Catgut suture is an absorbable sterile surgical suture composed of natural collagen.
The Catgut sutures can be divided into two types.
Plain catgut, made from the goat's casing film, and chromic catgut, goat's casing film steeped in the chromicized solution.
The sutures feel soft, strong and smooth with equal diameter.
Catgut sutures can be absorbed by the human body after the enzymolysis process.
Substances of the enzymolysis process are not harmful to the human body.
Catgut sutures are available in sizes USP 5/0 to USP4.
The (basic) length of the sutures are 45cm, 70cm, 100cm and 125cm.
The sutures can also be customized according to the requirement of the surgery.
The sutures are supplied sterile, with or without (affixed) needle in various types in a one dozen box.
Catgut sutures meet all the requirements of United States Pharmacopoeia (USP) and European Pharmacopoeia (EP) for sterile, collagen sutures.
INDICATIONS
Catgut sutures are used for suturing body tissue in the surgery, gynecology, orthopedics and plastic surgery.
ACTION
Catgut sutures are absorbable by enzyme solution, which absorption time is different in different diameters and tissues.
In general, chromic catgut starts to be absorbed after implanted into the tissue at 14-21 days, with major absorption at 30 days, and is fully absorbed at 80-100 days.
In general, plain catgut starts to be absorbed after implanted into the tissue at 4-5 days, with major absorption at 14 days, and is fully absorbed at 80-100 days.
IV.REACTIONSCatgut
VII.sutures may cause a minor transient inflammatory reaction in the tissue which actually is a 'foreign body reaction'.
